Did you know? In order to give back to our community and the environment, Undercurrents supports various groups that support paddling, waterways and the environment on which we all depend?
- Undercurrents is a supporter of the Bow Riverkeeper. They are the eyes, ears, and voice for the river – they are champions for clean water and healthy, sustainable river systems. Bow Riverkeeper is Undercurrents’official charity.
- Undercurrents is a long-time supporter of the Harvie Passage Project to turn the Calgary Weir into a safe river area for all levels of paddlers. Store owner, Tony Palmer, co-founded the project and continues to work towards its successful completion – expected in spring 2010.
- Undercurrents is a supporter and Pioneer Partner of Leave No Trace Canada.
- Undercurrents is a member and supporter of the Canadian Canoe Museum.
- Undercurrents is a supporter of Paddle Canada.
- Undercurrents is a member and supporter of the Alberta Recreational Paddling Association.
- Undercurrents is a supporter of the Alberta Whitewater Association.
- Undercurrents sponsors local competitive paddlers, including world championship qualifiers Tim Davies and Dave Galasso, and Junior phenoms, Andrew and Graham Jobe.
- Undercurrents sponsors the annual Eco-Tourism Adventure Race (ETAR).
- Undercurrents sponsors the Full Moon Adventure Race Series.
- Undercurrents sponsors river festivals throughout Alberta.
- Undercurrents also supports local non-paddling charities in Bowness and Calgary.
