Kayak Self-Rescue Clinic
Description:
What would you do if you flipped your kayak and had to get out? This pool-based clinic will introduce you to a variety of self-rescues and assisted rescues. This is a “hands on” program, so come prepared to participate fully.
Expected Outcome:
Upon completion of this clinic you will know, and be able to perform a variety of self-rescues. The self-rescue skills taught will give you more confidence than even!
Notes:
This course takes place at Mount Royal University pool (map). Parking is free! Kayak, paddle and sprayskirt are provided by MRU. Come prepared to have fun and get wet!
Prerequisite:
16+ years old (or 12-15 years old with a guardian in the pool).
Completion of the “Kayak Discovery Clinic”, or previous experience with a kayak and the ability to perform a wet exit.
