Kayak Fishing!
Description:
This introductory course will give both fisherman and paddlers alike the information required to safely and successfully fish from a kayak. The course will cover topics such as kayak fishing safety, equipment requirements, kayak outfitting and kayak specific fishing techniques. You’ll also receive general fishing knowledge in regards to tackle/gear selection, fishing knots, local strategies and tips required to get you started in the fast-growing world of kayak angling.
Expected Outcome:
Upon completion of this course, you will have the skills and confidence to successfully set up a kayak for fishing, and will know how to find, play and land fish safely while kayak fishing.
Notes:
Kayak and related gear is provided. Fishing gear is not provided.
You need to bring your Alberta Fishing Licence & a lightweight trout-specific rod and tackle for the on-water portion.
Prerequisite:
Successful completion of “Kayak 1 – The Basics!”, or equivalent, or "Kayak Discovery Clinic" with additional experience.
