Happy Long Weekend!I hope everyone is playing outside and enjoying the great weather, instead of sitting at home staring at their computer screen.
Here's a fun thing for paddlers of all skill levels to try - it is called "Survivor Slalom." Scary name, but really it is a fun and casual introduction to slalom paddling on a really friendly (read: slow) piece of water, right in Calgary. And, it is FREE!
The event is on Thursday, May 28th. The clinic starts at 5 PM and the "race" at 6:30 PM Don't worry if you show up late; they want you there trying out slalom, having fun with your friends and honing your paddling skills!
The event is on a quiet channel of the Bow River near Deerfoot Meadows, the mega-mall with Ikea in it. A map and directions are available at the website,
