The Bow Waters Canoe Club, one of the more active paddling clubs in Canada is seeking a Program Co-ordinator. The details are below, but the job is essentially, "person in charge of everything." EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Bow Waters Canoe Club offers an extensive canoe tour schedule and canoe rentals to members, quality lessons program for youths, and has a clubhouse which is used for club and rental functions. We are one of the largest and most active canoe clubs in Canada. More information about the BWCC can be found at our web site www.bowwaters.org.

BWCC is looking for an independent and enthusiastic person for the position of PROGRAM COORDINATOR. Accountable to the Club’s Board of Directors, the PROGRAM COORDINATOR is responsible for the following:

· Club Administration - including membership communications, budget development, grant applications, general accounting, bill payments, database management and website administration.

· Facility Management – identifying maintenance needs for the building and grounds. Facilitate and oversee repairs.

· Hall Rentals – managing and promoting the club facilities for third party rentals. Develop and maintain rental schedule. Accommodate client/renter access and use of the building.

· Equipment Management – identify necessary purchases and repairs. Supervise equipment rentals.

· Canoe/Kayak Lessons program – develop, promote and schedule lessons program. Coordinate with lessons sub-contractor.

· Coordinate and support volunteers in club programs and activities.

Candidates must be able to work independently, exhibiting strong organizational and communication skills. Computer skills and an aptitude for general bookkeeping/accounting are also requirements. Previous experience with a non-profit organization would be an asset.

A keen interest and knowledge of paddling, including Instructor certification with Paddle Alberta and/or Paddle Canada, and other outdoor activity leadership training would be an asset.

This position is part-time with varying hours to cover various duties.
